We only know the weld ability and conductivity of gold plating, its stability is the best one among the metals. It is widely used on the PCB boards. Regarding the nickel plating, it has good stability but weld ability is not so good. Temperature is better, rare to hear of nickel plating on the gold fingers of PCB boards.

Gold electroplates have better conductivity and weld ability than the nickel plating, but cost is more, too.
