When we choose the RF adapters, what are the main Indicators? Today let us have a talk about it.
1.Impedance characteristics
Like other microwave devices, impedance characteristic is a very important index, which directly affects standing wave ratio, operating frequency and insertion loss. The most common connectors impedances are 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm.
2. Working frequency range
The lower cut-off frequency of RF coaxial connector is zero and the upper cut-off frequency is 95%. The working frequency depends on the structure. Generally speaking, the smaller the size of the outer conductor, the higher the working frequency of the connector: the lower the dielectric constant of the filling medium, the higher the working frequency, the lower the insertion loss.
3. VSWR
VSWR is defined as the ratio of the maximum to the minimum voltage on the transmission line. VSWR is one of the most important indicators, which is usually used to measure the quality.
4. Durability
When the connector and its matching connector completes a completely mesh and separation cycle, even a plug. In MIL_C-39012 standard, the insertion life of RF connectors is specified. For example, on the premise of 12 insertions per minute, the life of the N-type connector should not be less than 500 times. After 500 insertions, there should be no obvious mechanical damage to the connector and the various coordination functions remain unchanged.
Superbat offers a full range of in-series, between series and T-shaped coaxial adapters.
